Do you or your child work really hard to manage your emotions but often in the heat of things, you can't focus or find a way to help calm yourself?
Emotions are a normal part of the human experience, but we can all do with a helpful hand on how to manage our big feelings more!
I recently heard of the idea of a self-soothing box, but wanted to help myself and kids come up with ideas of what we could do/include in a box, so I designed this worksheet. Much like a medical action plan, the idea of this is, that when you are emotionally heightened, it can be almost impossible to think logically. This plan helps you easily see reminders of things you can do to help you calm and soothe yourself more quickly.
I showed this worksheet to some friends and they loved the idea, and asked if they could buy it.
So now it is available to you to download, use as you need, colour in, fill in and display as a reminder of things yourself or your kids can do to support them at a time of overwhelm, frustration or any other emotion that's unwanted!
I hope it helps!
How to use this worksheet?
1. Brainstorm ideas that you have used in the past that help you feel better, calm down and feel soothed. Work to not use unfavourable behaviours on the sheet as they are things we might typically lean towards.
2. Try and fill the sections of the worksheet with 3 options for each area.
3. Colour in your sheet to make it uniquely yours!
4. Pin it up somewhere you can see and try and review in calm moments so you can practice using it when needed.

Self Sooth Review
I work in a high school in a student support role and the self sooth sheet by Delphie has been well received by the students as an activity to carry out particularly following an incident where they were unregulated so they can reflect and name tools for next time.
